What is Event Management?
Event management is the process of planning, organising, and managing events to achieve specific goals, create memorable experiences and leave lasting impressions.
It means bringing an idea to life as a fully planned and delivered experience, whether that be in-person, virtual or hybrid.
It means, researching and selecting suppliers such as venues and AV companies, creating timelines and budgets, coordinating logistics, managing onsite staff plus much more.
It also means that event managers like me are often considered to be Master Multi-taskers!
Meet Louise
If we haven't met before I'm Louise, based in Erskine on the outskirts of Glasgow in Scotland,
I'm a qualified event professional with over 10 years' experience in delivering meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions, product launches, gala dinners and more!
I spent my early career in hospitality and retail, before venturing into the skies as cabin crew for an airline, travelling the world operating on both short and long-haul routes. I always had a curiosity of the event industry and so I decided to enrol in an event management taster course at college in my mid-twenties and never looked back! It was an extremely busy few years as I was flying full time whilst also undertaking my studies, but I was dedicated and it taught me skills in managing multiple projects simultaneously, which is a skill every Event Manager needs!
